As a person who considers himself guided by his values, I have always felt a certain responsibility towards the society I live in and the people who live in it with me. With injustice increasing and inequality growing, I have always sought to change the reality that we live in, to create a world/Lebanon where human rights are prioritized and where no one is marginalized.
For the past few years, I have therefore been working constantly on being a change maker in the small community that I’ve been a part of, starting off by working at the level of my faculty and then upscaling it to the university level.
Being part of movements that share progressive values that are similar to the ones that I have, has allowed me to express my thoughts freely and be an advocate for the values I believe in – the values I believe could make a difference in our society. Our work has allowed us to begin implementing and converting theories and ideas into reality.
Now that I have the opportunity to be part of the Youth4Governance internship program and work alongside champions of change, I will be able to actually contribute and be part of the implementation, and to actually see positive changes at the country level. I am proud to be part of this endeavor because I believe this is the way to partake in the growth of my country and our public sector.
