Ever since I was a kid, I have always been fascinated by computers. I used to wonder how that small box performs such complex activities and displays all these animations. When I finally got my hands on one, it was Windows XP at the time, it kickstarted my obsession. I spent most of my days playing games and trying out different kinds of application, most of them resulted in me reformatting my pc by mistake, but I see it as a learning experience: losing all personal data after clicking everywhere in the settings.
Here I am today staring at a computer screen for hours trying to find where I misplaced a comma to debug my code. At the present time, I am pursuing a bachelor’s in Computer and Communication Engineering at Saint Joseph University. As I progress in my career, I would like to get acquainted with most fields related to computers whether on the software side or the hardware side, and work on projects that provide services to aid people.
This summer, I had the opportunity to intern at Youth4Governance where I saw first-hand how hard the people at Siren are working to help the public sector build itself and provide much needed services to the Lebanese people. Moreover, I can finally put my knowledge and skills to use and be part of the task force that will renovate and innovate the public sector.
